Networks
Advanced service networks require advanced protection. At Itron, we apply network-layer encryption to your Wide Area Network (WAN) and link-layer encryption to your Neighborhood Area Network (NAN). Rely on our advanced network security architecture for:
- WAN: IPsec with AES encryption
- NAN: AES on IEEE 802.15.4g or IEEE 1901.2
- Application-layer confidentiality, message integrity, and proof of origin
- Safeguards for device firmware, including cryptographically signing firmware images
- Extensive use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services to issue and manage keys and certificates that support secure communications and protection mechanisms
-
Devices
Our "defense in depth" game plan encompasses:
- Hardware security design
- Firmware design
- Software design
- Internal and external threat modeling and penetration testing
- Security training for developers
- Use of open standards
-

From the moment it enters the Itron network, your customer and consumer data is protected. We maintain certifications including:
